Part 3 - “Additional People and Organizations to Watch

On the Side of “Evil”, leading we think Lucius Malfoy will be in the forefront helping Lord Voldemort. We believe this to be true because sine the time Voldemort was nearly vanquished by his spell on baby Harry, the Malfoys have gained great wealth and power. Lucius Malfoy is on the Board of Governors for Hogwarts; seems to have great influence with one of his favorite charities: St. Mungo’s; he seems to have some interesting hold over the Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge (who seems to be either a grand bungler or super naïve person); he has seemed to have “bought” his way into the Department for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures. We wouldn’t be surprised if he is somehow placed to “assume” the Ministry of Magic position. But would he be content only being a servant to Voldemort??

Even though we Snape’s character is a wee bit on the dark side, we know he has been a faithful servant to Professor Dumbledore. But Lord Voldemort mentions on several occasions about “faithful servants at Hogwarts”. Is it possible Professor Dumbledore will have Snape “play at” being a double agent for the Order of the Phoenix? We probably will not find out until the very, very end. Being a Potions Master we can foresee some kind of potion he will make to make people “tell the truth” but not remember afterwards. Oh my goodness, Harry Potter better keep away from him. Harry is very protective over his feelings and memories of his parents! But, lastly we think Snape’s never-ending wish to become the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor has become a little more personal these days. Being someone who “fancies the Dark Arts”, Snape could be only just one step way from making a “poor choice” and be forever gone to the dark side! Oh no!

Will the Goblins stay neutral or will they side with the “highest bidder”? And what role will Bill Weasley play. History tells us there have been a great number of goblin rebellions. Why do many and what caused them? Will we find out? As Hagrid mentions to Harry upon entering Gringotts, “gotta watch out fer em”, or something like that!

It is predicted or thought that based on her name, Celestina Warbeck is not who she seems to be. There is evidence her favorite charity is St. Mungo’s. It is thought she could be highly dangerous due to her large (and possibly blindly loyal) fans. (She does live and radio concerts.)

There are a few Organizations to keep an eye on too:

Ministry of Magic:

It is clearly one of the most “nerve-wracking’ cliffhanger from Book #4. We are told by Voldemort that he has spies everywhere. There just might be several key highly placed officials already under Voldemort’s spell. He told Harry in Chamber of Secrets “he can be highly persuasive”. That poor Ginny Weasley was under a spell. Was Percy too? Cornelius Fudge seems to be pretty weak and perhaps easily swayed. We believe Arthur Weasley will have his hands full and might enlist the aid of the dynamic trio: Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Also, if Voldemort decides to take up the old cause of eliminating any “magical muggle borns”, JKR said in an interview with Scholastic.com: “The ministry is not informed and does not know in advance of any Muggle-born wizard children.” This might become important

Puddlemere United:

It is predicted Oliver Wood, our favorite Hogwarts, Gryffindor Keeper, will help the Order of the Phoenix with this expert flying. Perhaps he is a scout (along with Harry of course) to do a little “recon” work before the War breaks loose. Oliver strikes us as very loyal to Professor Dumbledore and Harry. We are a wee bit nervous about Celestina Warbeck singing their anthem during this stress time. She is thought to be very untrustworthy. Our poor Oliver may have more than Bludgers to worry about!

Dark Force Defense League:

This group has been suspicious from the beginning. Any organization who would make the less then reputable Gilderoy Lockhart an “honorary member”. As mentioned before, we have not really seen any other members of this elusive group. Is it possible Gilderoy is the only member? In any event, by virtue of the fact the name of this group is “dark force” and might really be cloaking their true purpose: “Dark Force Users Group”. We will have to wait and see.

Muggle Ministry

We found out in Book #3 that Cornelius Fudge has a contact with the Muggle Ministry and it is difficult to know how much in general the Muggle world will be affected by this War. Is it possible that Dudley Dursley finally helps “bridge” the gap between the Wizard world and Muggle world. We think Dudley will finally see that Harry is not a bad guy at all and may start to side with Harry. He may be influential in getting his folks involved, as mentioned before. We think Voldemort wants to somehow “rule” the Wizarding World as his immediate goal but we do not know if his “long term” goals involve conquering the Muggle world. We can only pray that Professor Dumbledore, Harry, Fawkes and the Order of the Phoenix group of witches and wizards will prevail. Good must conquer evil!
